Membership: To become a member of GWC or GWAMCO you need to meet the membership criteria. Qualifications for membership are set out in the GWC Rules under Division 3 members (See the Documents tab for a downloadable copy of the Rules and the Membership Enquiries page above for application forms).

Meters & Supply Point Costs: The cost of a meter and supply point associated with a new connection varies depending on the installation (e.g. the distance the property is from the main distribution line, size of land area etc.) All costs would be the responsibility of the applicant and a quote would be provided upon request.

Other Charges & Exemptions

Special Meter Reading Fee: $40.00 Including GST.

There are currently no exemptions, discounts, rebates or concessions available on the above water delivery charges or Asset Contributions.

Payment Methods

GWC accept the following payment methods:

  • personal cheques
  • bank cheques made out to the respective co-operative.

  • Direct deposit into our nominated bank accounts either via your internet banking facility or by visiting the local ANZ branch. Please put your surname/business name in as a reference. If only numbers are permitted please use your property ID # found on your Water Statement.
  • Credit card either over-the-phone or over-the-counter is accepted. *Please bear in mind if using a Debit card over-the-phone it will incur the % surcharge along with the transaction fee as it acts like a credit card. If you want to avoid fees on your debit card you will have to come to the office to pay.

    If you are paying GWC using the debit/cheque or savings account option on your card you will incur a 5cent transaction fee* in addition to the amount you are paying. If you are paying GWC using the credit option on your card, you will incur a 1.75% surcharge calculated on the amount you are paying in addition to the 5c transaction fee.

    Credit card fees are charged to GWC by their Financial Institution and are passed onto customers on a cost recovery basis only.

    Currently there are no exemptions, discounts, rebates or concessions applicable to the water delivery charges.

    Authorised Access

    GWC are authorised by our license under section 129 of the Water Services Act 2012, to enter a place without consent, notice or warrant to read a meter connected to our water service works.

    Interest on Overdue Accounts

    GWC have commenced (3/3/2017) charging penalty interest on all overdue accounts as per the Rule 74.6.

    Disconnection or Reduced Flow

    GWC are also authorised under the Act to disconnect or reduce the flow of water if water service charges are unpaid for 30 days after they become due.

    GWC do not want to disconnect or reduce flow to any of our members but if you do not pay your water service charges we cannot keep supplying you with free water while everyone else pays for it. All disconnections are a last resort. GWC are prepared to enter into a payment plan arrangement with a grower going through financial difficulties or cash flow problems. Payment plan arrangements must to realistic, be able to reduce arrears at the same time as keeping up with current quarterlies and monthly usage bills, and once agreed to must be adhered to otherwise disconnection procedures are recommenced. GWC has authority to disconnect or reduce flow even if a member is offered a payment plan or other arrangement under which they are given more time to pay or to pay arrears or if the member does not comply with the plan or other arrangement. GWC will issue a Notice of Proposed Limitation or Discontinuation of Services prior. A Disconnection/Reconnection fee of $500 will be billed to you on reconnection of your service. This fee is due and payable immediately.

    If you are experiencing difficulties paying your water bills please make an appointment to discuss your circumstances with our General Manager so that a payment plan arrangement can be formulated.
